Subject: Implementation of recommendations of 6th Central Pay Commission- Regarding submission of option to elect the revised pay structure wef. 01-01-2006 or from any subsequent date and an undertaking to refund/adjust the excess payment made if any.

Sir/Madam,

Your kind attention is drawn to refer CCS (Revised Pay) Rules-2008, notified vide G.S.R. No.622(E) dated 29th August,2008 and to state that in terms of Rule 6 of these Rules, government servants are required to exercise their option for drawl of their pay in the revised pay structure.

On receipt of the option, their initial fixation of pay in the revised pay structure will be made as indicated in Rule 7 of the CCS(RP) Rules 2008. On fixation of pay in the applicable revised pay bands and grade pay or in the pay scale, as the case may be, pay and allowances for the month of September,2008 may be drawn and paid on the basis of the revised pay structure and the applicable allowances thereon. In sofar as the employees who have joined on or after 1.1.2004 are concerned, the enhanced deductions under the New Pension Scheme will be calculated with reference to the revised basic pay and DA thereon.

Bills of the arrears of pay and allowances for the period from 01-01-2006 to 31-08-2008 will be drawn separately and payments will be made to the individuals with the condition that excess paid amount due to any discrepancies noticed later, if any, will be adjusted from amounts that may be due to them subsequently. For this purpose an undertaking may also be obtained in writing from every employee as per format given as Annx-III of Para 6 of Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure (Implementation Cell) New Delhi’s O.M. F.No. 1/1/2008-IC dated 30th August’2008.

In the light of above provisions you are, therefore, requested to forward the options and undertakings in respect of all the officers drawing their salary from Pay and Accounts Office (IRLA), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, A.G.C.R. Building, New Delhi within a week time from the receipt of this letter.

An early action in this regard will be appreciated.
